Velocity Summer Sports Camp at Lenape Park
Keep the kids active this summer with Speed & Agility Camp at Lenape Park. 8 Weeks of training focusing on running mechanics, conditioning and explosive power. Held every Wednesday evening in July and Aug. Two age groups 6PM: 7 to 11 yrs 7PM: 12 to 14 yrs. Cost $96 per athlete. Registration deadline JUNE 30. Summer and Fall Sports Sign Ups
Come and sign up for Fall Sports (Soccer, Baseball, Softball) and Summer Sports (Volleyball and Kickball) at the Upper Milford Township Building on Wednesday May 26th from 7pm to 8:30.
Intramural Girls Softball
Spring Softball Softball is offered for girls between the ages of 5 through 13. The goal of these programs is for the children to have fun while learning the fundamentals of fastpitch softball and develop good sportsmanship. Each player will receive a shirt that they can keep. Bats and helmets are provided, but players can bring their own. Each player will need to provide their own glove. T-Ball
Ages: 5-6 (as of 1/1) Pixie Softball
Ages: 6-8 (as of 1/1) Practices: Approximately two times a week starting in late March. Games: Approximately 2 times per week from late April through mid June. League: This is a coach pitch league in which all players are provided an equal opportunity to bat and play the field. No standings are kept in order to emphasize skill development and the learning of the game. We play teams from Macungie, Emmaus, Alburtis, and Brandywine Pony Softball
Ages: 9-10 (as of 1/1) Practices: Approximately two to three times a week starting in late March. Games: Approximately 2 times per week from late April through mid June. League: This league is designed to bridge the gap from pixie’s to A’s softball. Kids will get their first experience facing live pitching and learning to pitch. While ASA rules are used as a guide, there are several adaptations made to ensure the focus of the program remains on learning and the development of a complete softball player. No standings are kept, but an end of the year tournament will be held. We play teams from Macungie, Emmaus, Alburtis, and Brandywine. A’s Softball: Ages: 10-13 (as of 1/1) According to league rules girls who play for travel teams can not play in the intramural league. However, these girls are still encouraged to signed up so that we can account for them in the event the travel team does not work out for them. Fee: $60.00 ** Practices: 2-3 times per week starting late March. Games: 2-3 games per week from late April through mid June. There are league playoffs and an All-Star game that take place at the end of June. League: Teams will play in the East Penn Girls Softball League. The focus of this league is to get the girls playing real softball. The majority of the ASA rules are used as well as ASA umpires. Scores and standings are kept at this level. The entire team is placed in the batting order and each player must play at least two defensive innings. We play teams from Macungie, Emmaus, Lower Macungie, Alburtis, Brandywine, and Salisbury. Travel Softball: Ages: 10U; 12U; 14U; 16U Upper Milford is in a joint effort with Emmaus, Macungie, and Alburtis to develop a joint travel program. Registrations from the each organization will be combined and tryouts will be held (if necessary) to form a travel team at each level. Fee: $70.00 ** Mission: To provide an environment for the more skillful and serious player and to improve their skills and knowledge of softball through a more competitive play. League: The teams will play in the Lehigh Valley League. Practices: Amount of practices and locations may vary depending on field availability Games: Games will be played throughout the Lehigh Valley with the possibility of participating in local softball tournaments. ** An additional $20.00 annual family participation fee is required to be paid by each family participating in any UMYA sports. Fall Softball: Ages: 10U; 12U; 14U (although the same 1/1 cut off date is used that is used for the previous Spring, girls are encouraged to play at the level they will be at the following Spring) Fee: $40** Mission: Fall softball is designed to prepare girls for the upcoming Spring season. The main purpose is instruction and to get girls used to softball at the next level. League: Teams will play in the Parkland League. Practices: Teams generally practice one night per week Games: Games are generally on Sunday afternoons. ** An additional $20.00 annual family participation fee is required to be paid by each family participating in any UMYA sports.
